My primary specialty is Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I am a trained ART practitioner and it is the foundation of how I work with trauma. ART was developed by an EMDR-trained therapist and shares similar mechanisms, often achieving comparable results in fewer sessions.

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy or ART?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a short-term therapy that helps people find relief sooner. It builds on established methods from other therapies in a brief, focused format. ART uses a mix of creative imagination, body awareness, and eye movements to gently change how you think about and respond to difficult memories. The goal of ART is for those memories to stop triggering the same upsetting feelings and reactions. Unlike other therapies like EMDR, ART does not require you to talk about your trauma or do homework between sessions. Many people report feeling relief early on, and ART is designed to be brief, often somewhere in the range of one to five sessions. ART is often a comfortable, even enjoyable, experience, and the focus is on moving from discomfort toward relief and positive change.

With ART, we say, “Keep the memories, lose the pain.” You’ll still remember the details of past events, the aim is for them to carry far less emotional and physical charge. During a session, you stay in control while I guide you at your own pace. Your brain works to create new connections, building on your strength and resilience. ART is an approach many clients describe as empowering, and the changes it supports are meant to last.

For Veterans

If you’re a Veteran, I would be honored to work with you. I have years of experience helping Veterans with PTSD, military sexual trauma (MST), depression, and anxiety. With Veterans being among my loved ones, I understand the unique challenges you may face and have a deep passion for helping you regain control of your life. ART is recognized as an effective, evidence-based therapy for PTSD.

ART doesn't work only on combat-related PTSD - Here are some other issues that are often helped by ART:

  • Anxiety
    Depression
    Phobias
    Panic Attacks
    Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
    Post Traumatic Stress (PTS)
    Addictions/ Substance Abuse
    Performance Anxiety
    Family Issues
    Victimization/Poor Self Image
    Victimization/Sexual Abuse
    Relationship Issues/Infidelity
    Codependency
    Grief
    Job-Related Stress
    Pain Management
    Memory Enhancement
    Dyslexia Anxiety

Even if other therapies haven't worked, ART can help you heal from trauma, stress, anxiety, and PTSD, often without having to talk through every painful detail. Imagine feeling calm, confident, and in control again, free of flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, and avoidance.

If talk therapy, exposure therapy, or EMDR hasn't gotten you where you want to be, ART offers a different way in. I've trained in many trauma therapies, and while they often helped people manage symptoms, they didn't always get to the root. ART takes a different approach.

After going through ART myself, I understood the difference. It helped me heal from a broken heart after a painful end to a relationship more quickly than I expected, and that memory feels settled now instead of raw. My own experience is a big part of why I became a Master ART Clinician, and why I offer it to others too.

ART for Personal Growth and Performance

ART isn’t just for healing: it can also help with personal growth and performance. It can also be a way to work on limiting beliefs, habits, motivation, and performance. I’ve used ART to help clients improve their eating or exercise habits, make big life decisions, or enhance performance in sports, arts, and business.

After ART, many clients say they feel lighter, steadier, and more confident. If that sounds like what you've been looking for, let's work together.

ART therapy will be offered as part of ongoing therapy for established weekly or bi-weekly clients using insurance as space allows. Already have a good relationship with your current therapist? Stuck on certain traumatic issues or sensations? Services are also offered on a stand-alone basis to treat acute issues so you can continue to work with your current therapist after completing a course of ART with Devon.

Reach out for stand-alone rates: Stand alone services are considered pre-paid and will require payment in full prior to beginning treatment. For stand-alone services Devon is unable to take insurance at this time. There may be discounts available based on income or for service personnel. Please reach out for more information.
